Condensing Unit - Do's & Don't For Installation Location

Do’s

  1. Install the units, so that airflow is possible from all the sides. Ensure distance of at least 3 to 4 meters in the direction of air flow
  2. Ensure that the supporting steel structure is capable of supporting the load of the condensing unit and two service man. It is advised to make the structure capable to bear at least 3 times of the weight of condensing unit.
  3. If more than one outdoor unit is installed, they must be properly separated, so that warm air one unit does not enter the other.
  4. Leave space of 1.5 times or more of fan diameter of condenser between unit’s suction side and wall or any obstacles.

Don’ts

  1. Do not install the unit in a position where the condenser fan outlet is against the wind direction.
  2. Do not install the unit in front of any exhaust outlet. There has to be at least 3 to meter distance between exhaust outlet and condensing unit position
