The Import Executive will be responsible for the efficient and cost-effective procurement of all necessary materials, components, and services, with a primary focus on managing the entire international import logistics and documentation process. This role is critical to maintaining a smooth supply chain for Blue Cold Refrigeration's manufacturing operations and ensuring compliance with all import/export regulations.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
1. International Import Management
- Documentation & Compliance: Prepare, check, and manage all import-related documentation, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading (B/L), Airway Bills (AWB), Certificates of Origin, and regulatory forms to ensure full compliance with customs and trade laws.
- Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers to manage the clearance, transportation, and timely delivery of imported goods to the manufacturing plant or warehouse.
- Duty & Tax Management: Calculate and verify import duties, taxes, and tariffs; manage and process all necessary payments to ensure swift clearance.
- Shipment Tracking: Monitor and track international shipments, providing regular updates to internal stakeholders regarding estimated arrival times and potential delays.
2. Procurement & Sourcing
- Sourcing & Vendor Management: Research, identify, evaluate, and qualify potential local and international suppliers for raw materials, components, and other required services.
- Negotiation: Conduct price and contract negotiations with suppliers to secure the most favorable terms, quality, and delivery schedules.
- Purchase Order Management: Create and issue accurate purchase orders (POs), and maintain detailed, up-to-date records of all purchased products, costs, and delivery information within the ERP or internal database.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the Quality Control and Production teams to review the quality of purchased products and resolve any discrepancies or defects with vendors.
3. Inventory & Cost Control
- Inventory Monitoring: Work with the Warehouse and Production teams to monitor stock levels and forecast purchasing needs to prevent stockouts and minimize excess inventory.
- Cost Analysis: Prepare detailed reports on purchases, including cost comparisons, savings achieved, and cost-of-goods-sold analysis.
- Supplier Performance: Evaluate and maintain a database of supplier performance metrics (e.g., on-time delivery, quality, pricing) to drive continuous improvement.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of international trade terms (Incoterms), customs procedures, and import/export documentation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with strong negotiation and interpersonal abilities.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, highly organised, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
